Regional Genealogical Activities

In addition to the Manatee Genealogical Society, there are a number of Genealogical Societies that are within reasonable driving distances. These organiziation hold regular meetings and have programs tailored to the interests of genealogical researchers. We encourage you to use our Regional Society Links page and open the organization's website and check-out events that fit your research needs. Peggy Jude leads our DNA SIG. She has been conducting genealogical research for her family and clients for over 40 years. Peggy is a member of The Association of Professional Genealogists (APG,) and serves on the Board of the Manatee Genealogical Society.  She holds a BS in Zoology from Iowa State and a Masters from the University of Michigan.  She is an alumnus of the Salt Lake Institute for Genealogy, Genealogical Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP), and the Institute for Genealogy & History Research (IGHR), and she has completed multiple full week in-depth courses on DNA Tools and Techniques.
